Cruciform Musings

Tyler Sprouse

Author: Tyler Sprouse

My name is Tyler Sprouse, and I'm currently a student at Duke Divinity School. I recently graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Religious Studies and Philosophy, and during that time I also served as student pastor at Bridgeport United Methodist Church. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading and writing poetry, exploring the outdoors, and watching films from numerous genres.

Cruciform Musings will attempt to explore various aspects of theology, from academic analyses of different doctrinal loci within theology (e.g. Christology, eschatology, etc.) and discussions of certain theologians within church history, to wrestling with the political implications of our common confession: “Jesus Christ is Lord.” I will also include various blogs concerning biblical texts and how we can appropriately allow them to fuel our faithfulness/discipleship in our present sociopolitical context. Also, from time to time, I will share some poetry, especially when the poetry is theologically-oriented (which tends to be the case). I look forward to dialoguing with you! Grace and Peace.
